Epic Win's Star Debate! (trek vs wars)

EPIC WIN Burlesque and Asylum.com present "The Star Debate: Trek vs. Wars." This sexy symposium will settle the great nerd argument once and for all. Phasers will clash with lightsabers. Klingons will battle Stormtroopers. Tribbles will wrestle Ewoks. And although there can be only one victor, all of the nerds in attendance will unite and rejoice in the majestic spectacle of space boobs. The battle has begun.

This September, the geeks of EW! will clash against one another in civil war to settle one of the most impassioned nerd arguments of our time: Which science fiction franchise is superior, Star Trek or Star Wars?

Leading the arguments for Team Trek will be vaudevillian Nelson Lugo, with "evidence" provided by Trekkie hotties Bonnie Voy’age as a Klingon, Lefty Lucy as The Enterprise, Miss Mary Cyn as Data and special guest Fem Appeal as Uhura.

Arguing on behalf of Star Wars will be nerd rapper Schaffer the Darklord and his team of sultry Siths BB Heart as Darth Maul, Victoria Privates as R2D2, Magdalena Fox as Queen Amadala and special guest Rosey La Rouge as Princess Leia.

Since our hosts will be playing the parts of opposing counsel, our audience will play the part of jury. Indeed, the "winner" will be determined by your vote.

As If August Wasn't Hot Enough

Strangely, this month I'm doing a lot of performing in theaters at normal, human, times. Like 8pm. How weird.   So for the more theatrically inclined (aka, those who don't want to be in a bar till all hours of the night) can come see me in Vaudeville Nouveau or Friends of Dorothy or, better yet, both!

Monday will dazzle us again with Original Cyn
Photobucket

Featuring the performances of
APATHY ANGEL
MISS MARY CYN
RUNAROUND SUE
VICTORIA PRIVATES
and featuring the angriest, meanest, grumpiest, most awesome of the furious magicians, NELSON LUGO!

Johnny will be behind the bar, slinging the drinks to keep your whistle wet as your temp rises...

Come for the show, stay for the after party.

THE LUCKY 13 SALOON
273 13th Street, just off 5th Avenue in Park Slope Brooklyn.

FREE. Did I mention it was FREE? Well, it is.

On the 12th I'm performing in one of Vaudeville Nouveau's final shows. And the line up is freaking fabulous!
Photobucket
After three glorious years of giving NYC a perfectly good excuse to hoot, holler, gawk, laugh, cheer, sing and sizzle, Vaudeville Nouveau will be rolling up its banner and closing it's curtain for the foreseeable future. But, we are not going anywhere until we shut down the show in true vaudeville style! Three days, three shows, 17 performers!

Photobucket
“Pasties, and Glitter, and Drag, Oh My!" Follow Dorothy from Kansas to the strange and beautiful Land of Bras, where she meets some memorable friends and foes, but none as fierce and fabulous as the Wicked Bitch of the West. Will Dorothy make it through the forest of glitter and fringe to the Wizard with her friends? Can she keep the Wicked Bitch of the West from getting her hands on the Ruby Red Pasties? Journey over the rainbow and down the yellow brick road with Dorothy as she discovers the true meaning of what it means to be home.”

Influenced by the traditions of vaudeville and circus, and bringing a fun modern edge to the classic Wizard of Oz story, “Friends of Dorothy: An Oz Cabaret” features some of the best in New York City burlesque, drag, aerialists, magic, and downtown music!

Thursday I'm storytelling with the BTGay band in a benefit for the Harvy Milk School.

9-11pm at Dixon Place at 161A Chrystie street in Manhattan.  $5 suggested contribution

A special presentation of BTK Band, NYC's hardest-drinking improvised storytelling rock band, in their Pride celebration performance, BTGay Band! Raconteurs regale the audience with true stories from their lives while music and lyrics are improvised to turn their stories into songs.

Guest Singers: Carter Edwards, David Hodorowski, Miss Mary Cyn, Scout Durwood & Ms Greg Triggs

Part of the Pride Goes East Festival www.pridegoeseast.com

I've been told most of the storytellers are gay men so I'll be representing most of the rest of the rainbow as best I can by wearing a poly themed shirt (it says "I'm faithful to both my boyfriends") flagging (black hankie, left pocket), and telling a story about my Dad. I'll try to make out with a guy and girl at the show, just for good measure.
